- Aaron Sawitsky and Denice McClure got married in Marion, Massachusetts, on Saturday after having to postpone their wedding because of the coronavirus.
- In a video from the event, Sawitsky can be heard saying, “Let’s face it: 2020 has not been the best year.”
- Right after he said the phrase as part of his vows, lightning struck behind the wedding altar. The lightning was followed by a huge crash of thunder, punctuating Sawitsky’s reflection on the year.
- No one was hurt during the storm, and Sawitsky and McClure were able to finish their vows before it started raining.
- “We think it sums up 2020 pretty well,” Sawitsky told Insider. “The good news is the evening ended with sunny skies and a rainbow, so hopefully that’s a sign of what’s ahead for all of us.”
